That's a really nice looking system. I probably would have dropped that sound card in favor of a better motherboard- especially considering the cooling is geared towards overclocking. Otherwise, very nice.

Will I have trouble upgrading a processor in the future with this motherboard? If so I wonder if I could change it to a better one. My order just is in stage 1

Ziggy, the socket 775 is about at the end of it's life cycle. This means that no matter which motherboard you decide upon, the potential for upgrade of your CPU in the future is very limited. When I suggest a better motherboard, it's more with a mind towards a better overclock than anything else. Combine this with the very high quality of onboard sound processing in the better motherboards on the market, and I am hard pressed to recomend an entry level sound card.

Nice turnover for your computer. =) I ordered mine May 11th, got it June 10th lol. Ive been lucky enough not to have any trouble with it at all. Other then learning how to use Vista I have no grips about it.
Well, the video card runs very hot for stock. Its a 98GX2 so it runs hot to begin with, but with no overclock and lots of fans on it, its still running at 73C idle. Strangely though the CPU runs nicely, with temps at idle hovering around the upper 30's

The wait is over! I got it and unpacked it and everything looks fine. The box it came in was like it was never shipped.(Really goooood shape). Same way with the monitor box. As soon as the little lady is done with her work(transcribing). I'll start thr process of getting it setup.
She uses an old Canon printer that is parallel port .....so I got a parallel to usb cable.I HOPE that works. Kelly from DS said it would. |
