So I ordered my Lumos on November 16th. Waited weeks and was told that the AMD 5900x is delayed until January. Was offered the 3950 but I declined because I wanted the Zen 3 5000 series processor. Now the website says back-ordered until February. So 40 days later and no word on my PC build.

System Configuration:
Chassis Model: Digital Storm Lumos
Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (12-Core) 4.8 GHz Turbo
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming (Wi-Fi) (AMD X570 Chipset) (Up to 3x PCI-E Devices)
System Memory: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Digital Storm Performance Series
Power Supply: 850W Digital Storm Performance Series (Modular) (80 Plus Gold)
Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (500GB Seagate FireCuda 520) (NVM Express) (Gen4 PCIe)
Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (2TB Seagate / Toshiba / Hitachi)
Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce RTX 3070 8GB (Performance Edition) (VR Ready)
Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Digital Storm Vortex Liquid CPU Cooler (Dual Fan) (Fully Sealed + No Maintenance)
Cable Management: Premium Cable Management (Strategically Routed & Organized for Airflow)
Chassis Fans: Corsair LL Series (RGB Fans) (Software Controlled Effects)
Internal Lighting: Remote Controlled Advanced LED Lighting System (Multiple RGB Color Modes)

Good luck to anyone trying to build an AMD 5000 build you are gonna need some serious patience. Any insight into how long this is gonna take would be helpful.

Truthfully, there is no insight into the 5900X.

It's looking like another month before we get any in. With that said, we are not sure how many AMD will supply either.

It's best to change to the other AMD processors we do have in-stock. I know this isn't easy, but AMD has not been helpful in this situation.

Hello Alex,

Is this going to be the case with all new gen AMD processors? I ordered a ryzen 5 5600x around the same date.

No, only the 5900X and 5950X currently have the larger backlogs.

5600X and 5800X are coming in at a steady pace.

With regards to this post, does that mean previous estimates of January for AMD processors has now been changed to February?

For some, yes. Others such as 5600X and 5800X are coming in with better availability.

It's for a 5900x system ordered in November, yes. I just wanted to clarify that what I was told last month that it would be delayed to January has now moved to February. Looks like that is the case.

update on my order
I ordered the 5900x and have waited over 40 days. I emailed Alex and he offered the 3950 processor and stated that it would get that PC build and shipped in a week or so. I asked about the 5600x and 5800x and Alex stated that i should go with the 5800x instead. Made the change yesterday and now my build is at STAGE 7!!! yes! so the 5600x and 5800x are available if you want one of the 5000 series processors. Couldn't wait for the 5900x any longer...

Damn that’s awesome your order got bumped so much. I feel like a complete fool myself. I placed my order middle of November, waited months, then changed my CPU to lesser CPU, still sitting in the “Build” stage lol not only did I take advice that didn’t pan out, but now I’m still waiting with an inferior CPU on the build lol. I feel like such a fool.
