I have seen a lot of discussions here and there about Vista and the problems with it. So, in looking at putting together a computer system, which OS should one use? I am trying to balance stability vs. programs they run.
I am looking at a variety of games. The "middle of the road" would be my World of Warcraft. Some of my simpler games are like the Unreal Tournament ones. And, I'm sorry, I like the idea of jumping up high on a low-grav arena and sniping people from mid-air.
Right now, I can't do anything more complex than that without getting a better system.

I use Vista Premium 32bit and have no issues. I love the visual platform and the OS seems to be stable to me. People that are having issues are the ones that have the 64bit version more than anything, or they have the 32bit version and are having other issues and blame the OS.

Sup, I have vista 32-bit as well, It's a great OS, I haven't had any problems so far with it, play Crysis, CoH, other games. Takes some getting used to but might as well do it now, since xp won't be sold anymore soon. Very smooth IMHO, Good Luck

look for my other thread on Vista 64 experience.
I have listed a load of apps that work fine. The thing with vista has been the drivers suck generally. But it has been getting much better lately.
Currenlty trying out Conan beta and it works great.
My vote is for Vista 32 if you have 2gigs or less. Vista64 if over 2 gigs on your PC.
Ya won't miss that XP thingy. :)
