I feel you pain Harleman,
I too am one of the DSO customers that has had a rough go of it. I just got mine back after the third RMA.
The last RMA was not as much of DSO failure, but UPS...it arrived with a smashed plexiglass front, bottom leg tore off (metal & all), fan ripped from the case and hanging, liquid radiator hanging loose as well...I could go on...I didn't even hesitate...called DSO and told them to turn the UPS driver around...cause I was sending it back!!
Long (very long) story short...since my original order in January (1/4/08), I now have a system that works and looks good as well...oh but the wait and the crap in between...will drive a sane person to the brink!
To the credit of DSO, they we very patient with me and my ranting & raving and worked with all of my issues thru this entire ordeal and 3 RMA's. In fact, after the last disaster...they just built me a new rig from the ground up!
It has only been on for 12 hours, but it is the best 12 hours I have had with the rig since I received my original one in February.
Hang in there...DSO will do you right!!

Actually its the other way around, youve been very patient with DS and their wonky computer. Im not very sure where i got the avatar though is a german battleship in new york harbor, so i assume i got it from turning point fall of liberty. Crappy game, i wouldnt touch it with a 10,000 foot pole, but hey...nice screenshot they had haha...
I had to write this again, apparently windows vista when it downloads a update doesnt give you any warning that the computer is about to restart, that or i just havent adjusted that setting yet..lol here i was in the middle of writing a message and poof the computer shuts down

Sorry to hear your rig croaked again, Harley. Mine is still running strong.
As far as Turning Point, I had high hopes for it when I first read about it. Screen shots looked great. But, now that it is out, I have heard nothing really to good about it.
PC gamer also had little good to say about it. I won't be buying it.
As for me, I am trying to muddle my way through STALKER. Another game I had high hopes for and ran out and bought. Not as good as I had hoped. It does have some interesting game play, but it is full of buggy missions and much of the time it lacks any direction of what your supposed to do next. It gets silly to clear a camp of enemy only to later find they have all respawned and you have to fight them over and over to get to the next mission. And the weight limit thing for what you can carry just plain blows.
I am going to try to finish it, but is does get frustrating much of the time.
Good luck on your RMA, Harley.

Harley,
You must have been a saint in a former life... that is all I can say, I would be eating lead and spitting bullets by now if I was you.... Bless your sanity and here is hoping your rig feels better this trip. Dave |

I think if it takes more than 1 RMA to fix, that is an indication that the thing should have a full overhaul :)
Just me, but most folks like me especially (I figure in the end all people that drop several thousand on a rig feel as I do) have it in our heads that stuff should work... especially expensive stuff from a boutique retailer like DSO. Yes we expect a lot but we also it seems get a lot of attention so I guess it all works out in the end... too some extent :) |

LOL Harley! Go out and ride man!
3 things I miss on this deployment: 1) my own bed 2) my computer 3) my Buell XB9S. Not in any particular order. Edited by Wallyguitar - 12 Jun 2008 at 1:10pm |

I received my system yesterday and one of the legs was torn off. I was
a bit disappointed, but was more worried if it will run at all. Well
after hours of having monitor trouble I get it working and so far
everything is good, expect one of my video cards seems to not work at
all. After speaking with Randy for 1hr or so I am sending it back for
repair after having it for just 1 day. Randy was really patience and
helped me, even though I didn't know much. I hope when I receive all is
in working order. Looks like me and you are gonna be bored for a
bit...lol

Total goof on UPS's part last RMA...came back to me in pieces. Alex spoke with me that day and made the committment to start from scratch. To DSO's credit...that is what they did! You can't put a price on that type of customer service. I had two RMA's prior to this latest which date back to receiving my first puter in Feb. I have not had two weeks in a row where I had the computer running w/o issues so I know what you are going thru
I am hoping for the best with this one...so far so good!!

Harleyman, do you have a buncha cats running around your pc desk?? Sounds like wild static or perhaps other electrical interference.
![]() Often, the power cords can produce interference with other data transmission. Digital transmission can be devastating on analog transmission as well. For high end audio gear, I have had to run power cords separately from analog interconnects and all digital cabling and wiring ran isolated from everything else. Recently, I bundled up my wires to clean up the clutter as my mom hates the mess... to make it neat, I tried running the power cord along with the other cables and started having endless reboots and lockups. I separated the power cord and things are fine once again. Whenever you have power cords near other cables... accessories, monitor feed, whatever... have it cross perpendicular and not running parallel. Good luck with your rig! ![]() |

Harley,
Have you noticed that big button on the front? These machines have electric starters, ya know? Stop trying to kick start it.
