A computer savvy friend of mine is helping me set up a rig through DS, and he said if I overclocked the CPU to 4GHZ and had 12 GB of Ram, even with a cooling system, it would put too much stress on the CPU. I figured if that was the case, they wouldn't let it be an option. Is this true. Thanks

No matter what, just remember that pc is under warranty with that oc, so theoretically speaking even if the 12GB of ram did stress the cpu and killed it, which it won't, but if it did, it would be under warranty and you are covered.

One of many reason why I love DS.

12GB of RAM puts a bigger strain on the IMC (Integrated Memory Controller), and overclocking will shorten the lifespan of the CPU.

But like DST4ME said, it is covered under warranty should anything go wrong.
