Okay, so i recently built my own system and here are most of the specs that I recall right off the top of my head.
Q9550 GTX260 Superclocked Edition 8GB DDR2 @ 800MHz 750W Corsair PSU XFX780i Antec 900 2 I wanted to try and overclock this system some. Right now I have like 5 or 6 fans in the case and the CPU runs around 32-42 degrees Celsius when gaming. I have a stock cooling fan on the CPU. What is the temperature where I should start to worry? Any recommendations on how far to overclock? P.S.--->First time I am wanting to overclock a system, so really new to this. |

cpu temps need to be under 85c preferably 80c.
thats after running intelburn or running linx like 40 or 50 times. |

Okay, and a good program to monitor temps is? I read some guides and RMClock doesn't want to work on Windows 7 64bit

you can try HWMonitor and realtemp, go by which ever one shows the higher number.
rmclock has limited ability on vista and win7 64bit. Edited by DST4ME - 22 Nov 2009 at 9:27am |

What about CoreTemp?
I ran Intel Burn on Stress Level: High and Times to run: 5 Max temp reached was 75 Celsius. I have the heatsink that came with the processor and I know for a fact that I need to take it off and redo the thermal paste because I know there is too much on there. Right now at idle the temp is averaging 39 Celsius. |
