I had a DS rig built in July, it came with a the stock HSF for the Core i7 920 CPU,
I have the rig in a Cooler Master Elite 310 case.

My question is, can I OC this machine in its current configuration without worrying about it frying.

If I can OC what are the safe OC limits?

Also what is the highest RAM I can put in this machine?  DDR3-1600?

Thanks and sorry for the noob questions.

It will vary for every chip, so you would have to find out for yourself how far you can take your setup. Having said that, the i7's run very hot, and I doubt you will get much of an overclock with the stock IHS.
as far as RAM goes, your 1333Mhz RAM is fine for for a stock, or mild overclock i7, you will not see any gains for most applications going with faster RAM, but you can go up to 2000 Mhz RAM, even higher if you want to spend the $

Thanks, my system is running great, I just wanted to make sure I am getting the most out of it, as I have seen many people OCing their 920s.  What about RAM timings?
I have 9-9-9-24 timings on the RAM.  As well it looks like in BIOS that it is running at 1066Mhz, can I go up to 1333Mhz and will it give me much improvement?

My I7 920 has been clocked to 3.33 Ghz with the stock intel heatsink. 0.77Ghz boost, not bad.
