pretty easy, downlaod MSI afterburner, you can use the Kombuster to check stability, but also try it in games to make sure it is stable...I can guide you some. lol

for best overall power, keep the core and shader linked, then up the core 10Mhz, and run Kombuster, if no errors, no issues, keep going till you hit an error, or the Nvidia driver stops responding. lol then back down 10Mhz, then do the same thing with the RAM.
the linked shader/core will get you the best overall gains, unless one of your cards has a really bad shader clock, some do, in that case, you might be better off un-linking, and getting more out of the core, and leave the shader low, just matters the card.

Does it matter what PCI-E slot the second video card sits in? The MOB says the slot 1 16x (i think, i dont know it said 8x too)
slot 3 16x/8x
slot 5 8x
I have card 1 in the primary slot and the second card in slot 3 The problem is, the GPU 1 is running a lot hotter that GPU 2
Now card 1 fan is right above card 2
I'm 99.9% sure that the card 1 is sucking up cards 2 heat causing the higher temps.
the temps of GPU1 vs GPU 2 is about 10c difference Edited by police215 - 29 Mar 2010 at 1:41pm |

top 2 slots, they will fit very close together,
SLI= more heat
this is typical.

with Afterbuner how do i get the Voltage Core to unlock? I went into the setting and checked the box (unlock Voltage Core) but I still can not raise or lower it. Also I have some Benchmark score questions
when you want to find the benchmark on your stock settings, how long to you let it run?
Once the benchmark stock setting score is achived, then you would start tweaking the cards 10mhz at a time. After running kombuster, do you benchmark again?
Scoring,
You are looking for the highest number score from the stock score. As long its stable.
While running Kombuster, do you need to run full screen? or can i run it at max res with the window 800x600 and achive the same results? Edited by police215 - 21 Apr 2010 at 11:41am |
