I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but I'm having trouble finding anything online comparing these boards... at least, in a dumbed down manner in which a simpleton such as myself can understand. I did find a review of one board, and then the other, but I wasn't really sure what I was looking at.
![]() My question is, other than Dual-SLi vs. Tri-SLi, are there any outstanding advantages that the Rampage II Extreme has over the P6T Deluxe? I'm just a casual gamer (WoW, upcoming SC2, Diablo III) I can't see myself using more than two 260s anytime in the next two or three years, and I feel that if I really wanted tri-SLi, I could send it back to DS when the time came and have them upgrade the board for me (along with say, a stronger PSU, and new GPUs, processor? ) |

The Rampage II is the best X58 board available. The P6T is the next best one.
Performance wise they are close, but the R2E beats it in nearly every benchmark. It also superior cooling and a few more features. It also OC's slightly better. |

Thanks for the responses so far. I really appreciate the image! Even though I can't necessarily understand all of the features :X
skyR, could you please elaborate? I don't know if this should be in the config section, but I'll throw it in here anyway so maybe I can get some specific advice.. Here is my current configuration. This is taking the Black Friday deal into account.. so with this setup, shouldn't the P6T suffice? Edited by graavin - 30 Nov 2008 at 3:44pm |

drop the:
Chassis Airflow: Upgrade Chassis With LED Performance Fans (Red) they take out your big fans and replace them with smaller led fans, and you don't need the extra airflow from them
other then that, there is nothing wrong with that build Edited by DST4ME - 30 Nov 2008 at 4:43pm |

Bias? Sorry, just giving the facts. Sometimes the most expensive things are the best. In this case the R2E surpasses nearly every other X58 board out there. |
