Is their a problem to storing your extra wires in plastic containers?  Where/how should you store your extra parts?

I got a cardboard box with the extra parts in it.  However I was gonna put it the extra wires (nothing with chips) in a plastic storage box because I thought it would be stronger and fit in my drawer better.

my question is better asked like this...can static generated in a plastic bin be a problem even for cables or just a concern for PC parts with chips like mobo, gpu, etc.?

Static is only a problem with chips, wires that aren't connected to anything wont affect it.

Ahhh OK thanks Venom.  That anwsers my question.  I was concerned that static could be an issue even in the wires.  I didn't think so but I just wanted to make sure.
Thank you both for your time and answers.

Thanks guys.  I put my cables in a plastic bin but I put my SLI cable in an antistatic bag.

Out of curiosity; could static develop as easily in a cardboard box as it does in a plastic box?
