I ordered my system on December 5th and it reached stage 1 on December 7th. The system originally included a 5950x but on January 4th I changed it to a 3950x. I was told that was the only thing holding my order up. This was reconfirmed a few days later but there still hasn't been any movement 2 weeks+ later. Really considering to cancel my order because I am now paying interest on for something with no ETA and what seems may take many more months to arrive.

Definitely frustrating man. I'm in somewhat the same boat man, but I ordered the Lumos with i9 and a 3080 Dec 11th and been in stage 1 since. From what I have gotten from every forum is that they are extremely backlogged and parts are hard to find with the long line of people. Most likely our orders will be shipping around mid February from what I get from it. Patients is definitely going to be needed with these orders, but im sure it is going to be worth the wait!

FYI- I just checked in as my order went to Stage 1 on 12/21. It looks like the 850w power supply that came in last week is already out of stock and they are now waiting for more.

Thanks man. Was yours the same? Im confused why your order is moving before mine, when I ordered before you lol. [/QUOTE] I am absolutely just as confused as you! I have 10900k and 3080. Its so confusing on how the line works. I was told a month ago that my parts were in stock but i was waiting in line to build. Here i am almost 2 months later with progress. I recommend contacting Alex or another DS support team. They usual figure out what the hold up is and bump your order up....potentially. So yes my order seems very similar to yours. Both intel and both 3080. Edited by Bamareb28 - 27 Jan 2021 at 8:10am |

Requested my order for cancellation today. I honestly just got sick and tired of the whole process. When I downgraded from the 5950x to 3950x earlier this month I was told that it was the only thing holding up my order. Then I waited and there was no movement for 3 1/2 weeks. So I called again today to get some kind of update but the person I talked to said that I should have gotten an email earlier this week about another missing part that could hold my order up "indefinitely"(he really used that word). He stated the email was to ask me if I wanted to downgrade the new missing part of my order. Told them I did not receive any such email and had originally just asked if they could resend me this email. He replied that he would escalate my request and I should receive the email again by Monday. I asked if he could tell me what part was missing and was told that another team is handling it and he did not know. After about an hour of thinking about this whole process I called back and requested my order to be cancelled.
Look I understand that there is a shortage on my original cpu and I compromised there, but then there was still no movement. Had me in limbo for so long that another part went zero balance. Who is to say that downgrading my order would even get things moving this time. I am happy for everyone that has gotten their order moving and shipped. For those still waiting I wish you the best of luck but I am DONE. |

Props for calling it like it is and not using kid gloves like 80% of the members on the forum that make excuses for this abysmal experience. If there is no movement in my order in the coming weeks I'll be doing the same.

I can understand the OP's sentiment. I only ordered mine at the start of January with it stuck on stage 1, but if I had spent almost 7 grand at the top of December with no movement even now, I would have called it quits long ago.
I almost don't mind delay as much as I mind the lack of transparency. At least when contacted they offer some answers, but there are expectations set when purchasing a machine. There's a general implication that 1-2 months is how long it should take. They also give literal build estimates when building a PC. When I was ordering mine, only the GPUs were labeled to be delayed or unavailable, so I explicitly didn't spec a GPU. But to my surprise the CPU options and possibly the power supply, SSD, etc, are also unavailable. These are things I need to know. If I am aware that my rig could take 3 months to build, that would change my entire decision process. If you can't build PCs because of long queues or component shortages, then be upfront about it. |
