I am not entirely sure, but I read somewhere that the Ultra's were already factory overclocked, so you paying money to have DSO overclocking them would yield little results....

32 bit wont be able to recognize all 4gb of the ram you have.. 64 bit doesn't seem to have a lot of problems, most of them are ironed out so the 64 bit should be fine.
Tirnanog is the expert on 64 bit it seems, user posted that there was very few compatability issues with any programs.
you could always dual boot 32 bit and 64 bit

Cool thx, so my setup seems ok for gaming and editing. The other question is I could find any reviews on the new chip qx9650. Any feed back? I just know the new nvidia 780i had some really good reviews recently and it would support the new line of chip from intel. But im trying to fingure if I would fine a difference between the qx9650 and qx6850 for the price difference?

![]() The QX9650 bested its older sibling by a mere point, 127 to 126. In the majority of our test apps, the new chip was 2 to 5 percent faster, but slower times in Nero and especially WinZip dropped the overall number.
This review was by PC world. It failed to mention though the power saving of the 45 nm chip and its ability to be overclocked much higher.

Personally, if I could afford it I would go with the QX9650, but if money was an issue I do not think it would be worth the substantial price jump. |

The DS guys swore to me that the Extreme or Ultra were both better choices if you are going with air cooling. With liquid cooling, the Cosmos is a good case though.
Technically RAM speed will enhance performance. It's not a very big increase though, and the money (unless you just have a lot of it) is best spent in other places. 800mhz is fine. EDIT: Looking at your build now, and the amount you are spending, it would make sense to go ahead and get the 1066mhz. And since you are going with liquid cooling, any of those cases should be fine. The only concern I would have is if you are looking to add any more harddrives, the Cosmos might be a problem with cooling those. Edited by Mythius101 - 03 Jan 2008 at 9:30pm |

The Thermaltake 1200W PSU is not only a better power supply than the PC Power and Cooling model, it's cheaper. Both models were tested by Hard OCP, you can check that site if you want to read both reviews.
If you're filling all four memory slots, and the 780i behaves at all like the 680i, going higher than 800MHz RAM may be a waste of money. You'll have to ask DSO what they're seen in terms of memory stability past 800MHz on the 780i with all 4 slots filled.
