Budget:
$4,000 Expectations: A computer that will remain relatively current for several years and have components that can be upgraded incrementally. Usage: I will use the computer mostly for simracing (iracing, rfactor2, ACC) with wheels and pedals. I also would like to use VR and/or an ultrawide monitor / triple monitors as a display. I know that's all kind of general - I'm new to all of this. I was using a Shadow Infinite but just received an email that the Infinite configuration will no longer be available on May 20. So, I'm now exploring my options. Thanks! |

Knowing if you are leaning FHD (1080p), QHD (1440p) or UHD (4K) would be a little helpful. Either way, racing games (fast-paced action) typically play best with high FPS.
So, especially with a triple monitor setup, I would suggest nothing less than an RTX 3080. Some resources/info: RTX 3070 Enough for Triple 1440p 144Hz Monitor Setups? (The math on why more monitors is a big drain on graphics cards) AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT vs. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 (The 6900 XT fairs well against the 3080, but has more onboard VRAM. Forza Horizon 4 is the only relevant game I noticed with a quick scan the 6900 XT not quite hold up against the 3080.) AMD’s RX 6000 GPUs to Boost Perf With Ryzen 5000 CPUs via Smart Memory Access With that pointed out, here's a config I quickly came up with. Config #: 3895908 (Click "Load Config" at the top of the page, enter above number, click "Load") Case: Digital Strom Lynx CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Mobo: Asus ROG Strix X570-E RAM: 16GB DDR4-3200 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB (VR Ready) Storage: 500GB FireCuda 520 (NVMe PCIe 4.0) and 2TB HDD |

Well, this is promising:
RX 6900 XT 16GB | Tested in 4K and 8K PC Games It shows Need for Speed Heat holding at about 60 FPS at 8K with Ultra settings. So, three 4K monitors could be doable -- might require a little less than top quality settings though in some games. |

I think MrCheetah has you well covered. I will comment however, that in games like that, you will never have the opportunity to appreciate the difference between 2k and 4k resolutions. Your concentration on what you're doing will not allow for the luxury of eye candy, IMHO. Since fps is the name of your game, I'd dial it back to 1440p. It's just a more practical choice.
