you don't need a threadripper.. you're better off with an r9 3950x. If you can wait though the ryzen 5000 series is going to come in November. You're probably better off waiting for the r9 5900 w/e to come out vs getting a thread ripper they're not that good for gaming. you also have 128 gigs of ram which is more than a what anyone would ever need for gaming. I'd chop that down to 32 gigs at MOST but 16 is more than fine for everyone but if you feel you need more than I wouldn't do more than 32 gigs, and even that is more than enough for editing whatever videos you may or may not be doing. Other then that everything else is fine. I assume you want to play the future CoD series in 4k Ultra so the 3080 isn't over kill or anything.

Agree with everything said so far, except you have selected a SATA SSD for your primary drive. You will benefit massively by taking some of that suggested savings and upgrading to a large NVMe SSD for your primary drive, and a SATA SSD for secondary storage. The Seagates are Gen 4 PCIe parts that AMD boards support. They are 5 times faster on the PCIe bus than SATA.

That's super helpful thank you. I should've mentioned that I also edit a large number of RAW photos and edit video via Adobe Lightroom & Premiere Pro. I have downgraded to 64GB RAM and the 24 core AMD Ryzen is that reasonable?

I figured you might have done some editing too lol, yeah that's fine. I suppose. If you don't absolutely need to build it now I'd wait for ryzens next gen flagship cpu for gaming,( or u can get this gens one) but, since it looks like you have some professional work load then getting getting a lower end thread ripper isn't burning money. Just know that they're not really made with gaming in mind. About the sad but that was mentioned above. Nvme gen 4 (samsung 980 pro) is a good idea if you're having to transfer files frequently, I don't think anything above sata three is that noticeable for gaming loading screens. Disregard that if you just need space to store all the photos though. Also seeing as that you're using both a 3080 and a higher end cpu I'd upgrade your psu to 1k watts just so it doesn't run as hot.

Edit: I misread 750 instead of 850, the psu is fine

"(samsung 980 pro)" Isn't offered here yet. Still find myself agreeing with everything else.
