My Configuration; https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=3584814
I'm currently having some stuttering issues with League of Legends. I'm not entirely sure why it happens specifically with this game (my other games don't seem to be affected) but I could have a good 400 FPS+ at the start of the game, then mid-way through the game around 260-ish, then it drops to 60 (stutters) and then immediately ramps back up to the 230+ range. The issue here is the stutter because it lasts for about a full second but you know in games like this that means death. I'm trying to figure out why my 3k+ PC is having issues with this game where as my older PC that uses a 980 TI has no problems with league. I am using Gsync and a Gsync compatible monitor 144 HZ from LG. Not sure if that matters. Either ways, not sure if anyone has some tips to improve the performance to reduce the amount of these micro stutters. Thus far I have tried the following; -Changed the Nvidia card's Power Management mode to 'Prefer maximum performance'. -Updated drivers for 3080 Graphics card to most up to date (461.40). -Capping my league's FPS to 144. -Removing the 144 FPS Cap to Uncapped. -Enabling V-Sync and capping to 144. So I think I have solved my own issue here... It was previously installed on my D drive which uses a HDD. I instead installed the game to my SSD (C drive) and not having any of these issues.. so my only assumption is there was some bottleneck. Perhaps the HDD is too slow? but either ways it seems good now. Getting consistent 230~240 FPS+ now (I keep the game capped at 240).

With todays options on HDs I personally will only install games to an SSD.
I don't even have an old spinner HD in this new rig or my last rig. I consider them useful for only storage anymore, and like I said, as cheap as SSDs are why even install an HD? Just my opinion you understand. Glad you got your issue worked out. Keep in mind, some games will run fine on an HD, some won't and the ones that will are becoming fewer and fewer. It won't be long and HDs will be a thing of the past. |

Yes, I'm actually thinking I wished I paid the little extra to just go with two SSDs when I purchased but I can put in a SSD myself so its fine lol.
