bullet Topic: Phase 5 taking FOREVER!!!
    Posted: 29 Jul 2010 at 10:32am
My build has been in Phase 5 for a week and a half and I'm going crazy...  should i be worried?  Should I call to find out what is going on?  I know people have said that phase 5 can take a bit, but they estimated 2-3 days..........

No need to worry.  If it will ease your mind, you can call them or send them an email.

I'm on my 3rd day at stage 5 as well.  I hope mine doesn't go a week and a half, like you.

I guess I can join the club... 6 business days and counting.  I'm frothing at the mouth, but I'd rather have QA find any problems with my new baby than find it myself.

Some babies will come out within minutes. Some will torture their parents and make them wait Whoa

Some orders may take longer than others. The key is to ensure we provide every customer the absolute best and throughly tested system possible.

We won't sacrifice quality over speed. Our Production Manager is aware of orders that stay in a stage for a few extra days and we do our very best to get them to the next stage ASAP.

Feel free to contact me if you want me to look into your order for you.

I sent an email asking if there was any problems as to why my order has been stuck in stage 5 for 4 days and I got this response:

I’m sorry for the delay and I’ll be more than happy to look into this for you.

I sent an email to the Production Manager to find out why it’s taking so long and when can we get it shipped. I also have flagged your order as an urgent priority with our management system.

I should have a response for you within 24-hours from today which means Monday. I looked as of right now and it’s currently being tested and it will finish over the weekend and hopefully go to QA on Monday.

ah, I'm still waiting as well.  I'm having high hopes that the testing will go into the weekend and the next stage will be impressed upon me on Monday.

Matt6767:   I wonder if they'll need to start over with the testing, if you changed parts.  Hope not!

or the moderators could just delete the threads about people complaining about the building of their rig taking too long??

personally i see the threads as people being too impatient with having a fine piece of machinery being built and tested for them. it's taking as long as it is for a reason, so let DS do their job and go DL some pr0n or something.

There's no reason for moderators to delete any threads like this, honestly I don't see any complaining going on, just people asking for advice on what they should do if their build is taking too long in stage 5 or not.

And back on topic, my build was in stage 5 for about 3 or so weeks.  At first I never called them to ask if anything was wrong, but finally I did.

So if it is taking longer than a few business days, no harm in trying to figure out why.

I wasn't complaining I was just inquiring if there was a hold up. Stages 1 -5 took 2 days so after 4 days at stage 5, I thought there was a problem with my order. Since it's still in testing I realize there may be an issue. And if there is an issue I know they do some re-testing. I was just inquring to see if there was indeed a problem. Since I am a customer I think I have the right to ask.

This topic isn't really going to get anywhere in terms of getting a status update on an order. Reason why is that the forums isn't the best place for direct official Digital storm support, it's a community of customers and enthusiasts. Because of that, I am going to lock this thread.

I would rather have any customer that feels their system is taking too long to email me directly since I will be more than happy to help effectively. Please email me at: [email protected]

I also just wanted to re-state my comments about the time it takes for an order to ship:

Some orders may take longer than others. The key is to ensure we provide every customer the absolute best and throughly tested system possible.

We won't sacrifice quality over speed. Our Production Manager is aware of orders that stay in a stage for a few extra days and we do our very best to get them to the next stage ASAP.
