photoshop elements vs. light room

Alright folks. I just bought my vanquish level 4 system and my aim with it was to have a muti purpose gamer/photo editing rig. So, with the specs of a Vanquish level 4, it appears as if I can use whatever current PhotoShop program I want. I do amateur and semi professional photography. I am wondering if there is a plus to using Light room over Elements? Any input would be greatly appreciated

I've used PS Elements in the past and it seemed like a very light version of PS. I personally use LR and PS exclusively for my photo work.
