Hey everyone, I have a GTX 590 in my Hailstorm right now. But I also have a GTX 285 card just sitting and collecting dust in my desk. Can I install the 285 into the computer and assign it to PhysX only duty without screwing up the 590 card? I wouldn't run in SLi obviously due to the different cards and all but just to take the PhysX duties from the big card and maybe squeeze out a couple more FPS?

What res you gaming at? if your monitor is at 60hz and you are already getting 60 fps or higher, you won't notice the extra fps, and with today's cards you are not really gonna need a dedicated physx card.
buy you can go ahead and do that if you like. I would keep the 285 as backup, cause with the 590, one of many things that is wrong with it, is that if one gpu goes bad in it, you have to send the whole card back and be left with no gpu, which is why I would keep the 285 for backup. |

I am gaming @ 1920 x 1080. Good point with the back up card idea, I think I will do it that way. Never hurts to have a back up.

At your res the 590 should play most games fine and you will not notice more fps on most games.
