3770k , can i use gtx580 for physx with a gtx 670 ?

You could, but the GTX 670 on its own is more than capable of handling the Physx processing. Personally I'd sell your 580 and put it towards a second 670, if you're keen on upgrading to the 600 series.

I agree sell the 580,it can be used as a dedicated physics card but way overkill for just that purpose alone.If your set on having a dedicated physics card,a 650 and below would be better as it would consume less power,sli 670 would be my choice as stated above you should be able to sell the 580 for a decent price as its still a good card.

My new Rig should be here late next week. I plan on going sli with 670 in the near future, until then, I thought maybe using the 580 for physx

These days you don't really need a dedicated physx.
