Asangard's review suggests it would also be pretty quiet. Is the Advanced Recovery Kit a good idea? Can it be installed on the HDD instead of the SSD? Can the GS 800 be installed such that the light faces upwards into the case? Thanks to those who have already helped me and for any other advice! |

Hi BandGap.......Great build.
For me, the alternate HafX with Noctua D14 cooler would be the way to go. The HafX is the best for max airflow and the D14 is tops in cooling and dependability. The 550D with Vortex240mm rad is also good and would be a little quieter I believe, but that's because of fewer fans. I vote the HafX. No surprise there. The single 670 will play on the 1920x1080 real nice, maxing alot of games and others on High. The 4GB vram version might be nice if you up the resolution. Lots of debates on the benefits. For the 2560x1600 you'd want to go sli as you already mentioned and this rig does allow it. If in the budget I would up the psu to the 1050HX for 7 year warranty and more headroom for sli, etc. The problem with the 40GB partition for Advanced recovery is that if the drive fails you have no discs to fall back on. The power supply lighting I'm not sure but would say it can't . Grab the free t-shirt. Good Luck and stay in touch Edited by bprat22 - 02 Jul 2012 at 4:13am |

Thanks again bprat22! I may indeed go with the HAF after all.
Another small question: can you confirm that DS sends all the necessary bits and pieces for the various components with the machine? E.g. the wireless antenna for the P8Z77 board? I'm sure they do - just checking. Am getting closer.... |

Can't say every nut and bolt, but the WiFi antenna for sure. That is a big plus for the Z77 Deluxe. They usually send whatever isn' t used.
