Ok, so my friend has offered to buy my old computer off me, and I have decided to sell, so I need a new computer. I do not know too much about hardware, so I need some help. I am looking to spend $1500ish, but I already have a 24" HD monitor, and a THX sound system, so all I need is the actual modem. I do a lot of gaming, of all kinds (skyrim, wow, diablo, battlefield...) so I dont want to configure it specifically for one type of game. Also, I live in Florida, so it would need a really good cooling system. also, aesthetics are important to me, but I dont want to spend an unnecessary amount on a cool case. anyways, I would appreciate any help i could get.

Hi Bausch...Welcome........For $1500 the ODE 1 is tough to beat with the i7-2600k and gtx 570. A custom build with a better case, psu, Cpu cooler and overclocking would be about $1900-2000
If you'd like to see the custom configure let us know. It would have similar gaming performance but better parts. Edited by bprat22 - 25 Mar 2012 at 4:38pm |

The Dreadnought (aka Haf X) Lvl 2 will also fit your budget if you tweak it. It's got better airflow and larger fans for those hot summer days. (And it looks badass. >:D)

Hi Bausch,
I live in Florida and the important thing about cooling is the ambient air temp in the computer room. Gaming creates a lot of heat and you have to have cooler air to remove the heat from the computer. If you don't have an air condition room then you might have temp problems. Frank |

I agree with Minka, the lvl 2 Dreadnought with a few tweaks it will fit your budget, and due to living in such a hot environment, you want a system that can move a lot of air. And the HAF X can do just that, with two 200mm fans on top, plus several 120mm fans in the case, it's amazing for hot environments.
