honestly I say save another $500 and come back and I will show you a system that will last you and be very respectable for a few years to come. A system you can upgrade as you go and make more powerfull down the line.

How about the new AMD chip, it's pretty cheap.

Or maybe the gateway FX6800-001e at best buy for $1250

or a laptop ASUS G50vt-x1 at best buy for $1050.

I am sure that in the next few hours or so that the folks on here will be able to get you closer to your targeted price range. DST4ME has helped a lot of people get the optimum system at the best price.  When the price just isn't workable he has been able to redo the build and reach a happy medium that is cutting edge and still affordable.  I have been ghosting the forum for a month or two and I am very pleased with what I have seen here.

The only thing I can give as advice is that sometimes it is better to spend just enough that it hurts a little because it is so difficult to try to upgrade primary components of a killer system.  Give this a day or two and your dream machine will start to take form in an affordable fashion.  I am watching and learning myself.  Every post I see helps me narrow on an ultimate system.

I was going to recommend the special but to be honest, it comes with a v8 cooler for ocing but its does not come with oc, so if you know how to oc yourself then it would be good for you, the other thing is that it comes with vista 32bit instead of 64bit.

and the problem with the special is that you can change anything in the config.

The other great thing about not going with the special deal, is the Haf 932 case.

Its a really good case that has tons of space for future upgrades. The antec 900 is pretty restrictive.

I am pretty lucky about online taxes since I live in Illinois.  Most of the stuff I buy is out of state and gives me a good break when I buy online. Anyhow, it seems that the gap of affordability is narrowing and your dream machine will be heading your way pretty soon.
