That's a tight budget to cover a tower and peripherals. You may want to save up some more money before ordering, particularly if you need a monitor now too.

Though if you must.. I'd say the only real option is the cheapest prebuilt with a few modifications (like maybe going ATI instead of Nvidia and changing to a high performance cooler)

That said, what resolution do you think you'll be gaming at? or what size monitor best fits your budget?
If knowledge is power and power corrupts, then total knowledge corrupts totally.

well see the things here is that we can get a pc for $1500 which will be ok, but then has no room to grow and in a few years will not be as powerful, due to newer games being more demanding.

or

we can spend say $2200, and get a pc that will kickass now and in a few years when things get too demanding, we can upgrade it for a little cost and have it be powerful again, instead of buying a new pc, or wishing we could.

now what is the resolution you wnat to play games at highest settings and what games, for example at 1900 x 1200 res, if you wanted to play crysis at highest settings:

a. you would need a minimum budget of $2700.

b. even with that budget you still couldn't play it at highest settings with hight aa.

so as you can see, its not a matter of how we spend on a pc or what we think is a lot to spend on a pc, its a matter of what we want and how much what we want will cost.

so tell me your res and lets see what works for you.

Well im on a laptop and ive always wanted to play fallout 3 and i might buy crysis if i get a computer good enough to play it.

But idk about res, see ive been a CONSOLE gamer (PS3) and really dont know that much about res. LOL and i just want something that can play regualar games on medium to high graphics (does this make more sense)? but yeh my budget is low cuz we arent the richest people on earth lol :P

ok the recommended res for that monitor is 1366 x 768, which means very low gpu needs, now lets see with your budget this is about the best we can do without monitor, and it will run most games well, but not crysis.
