Looking at a new gaming system and have a few questions about my setup.  What I'm thinking about is getting the following setup:

Chassis Model: Digital Storm HailStorm
Processor: Intel Core i7 960 3.2GHz (Quad Core)
Motherboard: EVGA X58 3X SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Supports Triple SLI or CrossFire)
System Memory: 12GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified by mushkin enhanced (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested)
Power Supply: 1200W Digital Storm Certified (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) (Silent Edition Highly Recommended)
Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (128GB Solid State (By: Corsair) (Model: CMFSSD-128D1 Extream Speed)
Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: 1x (1.5TB Seagate Barracuda (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache) (SATA) (Extreme Speed)
Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x)
Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections)
Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 1.792GB (Includes PhysX Technology)
Sound Card: Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional (PCI-Express Slot Based)
Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Noctua NH-U12P High Performance Cooler (Compatible With ONLY i5/i7 Processors)
Chassis Airflow: Upgrade Chassis With Zalman Performance Fans (Up to 6 Fans)
Internal Lighting: - No Thanks
Enhancements: NVIDIA Enthusiast System Architecture (ESA) System (Install, Test, Optimize Computer)
Chassis Mods: HailStorm & 950Si: Processor & Video Card Area: Drill and Mount Two Side Window 120mm Fan Blow-Holes
Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz (Requires Air Cooling Upgrade)
Boost Video Card: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability
Boost Memory: Yes, Overclock memory frequency (Includes Memory Fan Kit Installed)
Tweak Windows: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system
Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit Edition)
Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based)

Few questions I have are:

1.  I play mainly online games (AoC, EvE, etc...) and my current system have a single GTX 285 card.  I'm thinking about a single GTX 295 for new system or should I be looking for 2x GTX 275's in SLI?  Also I'm on a 24" LCD monitor in 1920x1200 res.

2. Is 12 GB RAM overkill for win 7 and should I just stick with 6 GB?

Thanks.

your thoughts?

If you are going with air cooling, you should go with haf cause it has the best airflow and will give you the best temps, the haf comes with 3 x 230mm fans, one on top, side and front, so you are getting pleanty of airflow which is what you want since you are on air, the 950si or hailstrom is more for people who have water cooling on cpu/gpu.

but its your system and its not like the hailstorm won't work, if that is the case you want then get it.

for dual sli le should be ok, keep in mind the le has the same number of pci slots as classified, but if you want tri sli then go classified.

2 x 275 out performs 1 x 295 and is cheaper.

keep in mind only the new ati cards have dx11 support, so if its important to you go ati or wait a couple of month for the new nvidia cards, if its not important to you the sli 275 is great.
