Hello,

I have been reading forum for a couple weeks now and am trying to fine tune a configuration for my next PC.

I have stuck with my Dell with a (ummm Pentium 4 ) for about 8 years now which I upgraded 4 years ago so I think I am ready for a real upgrade and DS is where I want to get my next system from.

My budget is around 2.5K. I want to be able to do gaming with modern games and have a 3 1/2 year old Dell 24 Inch LCD 1920x1200 monitor which probably has pretty poor specs compared to current stuff.

Questions:
1. Right now I don't think I would ever try SLI but I was hedging bets by upgrading PSU to 1200W. Is that worth it or or should I just save the money or put it elsewhere.

2. With plans for only a single monitor at that resolution am I at overkill using the 480 and could scale back to a 5850 without really noticing it?

3. Has anyone went with the LED fan or internal lighting upgrades with this case? Were you happy with the result?

Thanks for your suggestions!

Here is the configuration:

1. If you plan on single GPUs, stick with the 750 watt, and just upgrade your video card in a couple years.

2. The 480 would be better, not overkill. Source

3. Internal lighting is awesome on any case, especially the HAFs, as they have the mesh front screen, so you can see the light through it. I haven't seen the fans, but they are probably pretty cool as well.

Everything else on your rig looks solid. nice job.

Edit: Oh, and you might want the free game and t-shirt.

for a 480 you would want 1k watt not 750, 1250 is you want sli.

for your res your gpu is perfect, with a 5850 your going to be underpowered.

everything else looks golden

A 750w PSU is plenty for a PC with one 480. You can almost even squeeze dual SLI 480s into a 1000w PSU, but it's really pushing it, so better to select something 1100w or higher.

But DS doesn't carry any 1100w PSUs so select their 1200w or 1250w for dual SLI 480s.

Thanks all for the feedback! I will stay with the 480 and the 1200W PSU go with both lighting options and not forget to check for the free gifts. I will post back when I have sent in the order!
