Man you could not have messed that up more if you tried lol.

you want to do 3d with ati? nvidia is best at that.

so are you gonna be doing 3d gaming also or no gaming? cause I can't tell you right now bf3 in 3d with a 6950 is not even gonna happen.

No gaming at all. I just added BF3 as it was free. I need to work on 3d video and photo editing.
I went thru the AMD website and looked at 6950....thought it would work...what do you think I should do.
I have a Samsung T27A750 monitor.

...thank you so much for helping me out.

Ok but then you picked bf3 as a game, lol thats confusing but I guess because its free.

ok so what I understand then is that you are not going to game so no need for sli/cf, in that case mobo and psu need to change.

for ssd we like the intel 320, c300, m4 for their track record/reliability, 320 is king in that.

we normally recommend the 1TB BC for storage for its speeds, not sure the 2TB enjoys those speeds, just fyi, also the prices of hdd have almost tripled over last couple of months, wait till they come back down and add the hdd2 yourself. Also you know that 2 x 2TB is raid and losing raid = total data loss, why not have them independent as hdd2 and hdd3.

fan upgrade is loud and not needed, noise package is waste of your money as it slows the fans down, lowering airflow, and at best it blocks 10% noise.

this system will give you same/better performance then your config with better reliable parts, I kept the 6950 in there, I leave that up to you to decide, I would go with 570:

Here you go Ticket# 621855 --- $3,594 (To see this build click here)

Ask DS specifically for this fan to be added to the top, so you endup with 4 x 200mm fans:

haf 200mm non led fan

Ask for vcore lower then 1.4 for your oc.

would you recommend...Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Corsair 650D
Which 570 would you recommend...the 1.2 gb or 2.5 gb one?

How would you configure your computer if you had a Budget of $4000. Not a gaming PC....but for 3d video & photo editing and playback.....please let me know

My build has everything I recommend, I would not recommend the 650 cause it does not have the airflow of haf x, if you want good case/load temps you want good airflow.

the 2.5GB version of for gaming, unless you know one of your apps has use for the extra vram.

basically I took out all the stuff that was wasting your money (didn't bring anything forth worthwhile over the part I chose) for example the 2133Mhz vs the 1600mhz ram, so if you don't see it in my build vs yours its because its a waste of your money.

As I mentioned my config has better performance, so why would I want to go with something that cost more and has less/same performance.

My config is for video, 3d and editing, otherwise I would not put in 16GB of ram, you don't need that much memory for gaming, also for gaming there would be psu and gpu changes.

you can go ahead and spend $500 more then my config, you will still endup with the same performance as my config at the end of the day.

ITs teh way the case is setup, you want a big side fan for gpu/s the 650d does not have it, you can add/change fans all you want at the end of the day you gonna spend more and not have the airflow of haf x.

the psu would be changed to 1050hx.
