I've spent days tring to put this build togeather... Please recommend any changes that you feel would make a better gaming system. I need to come in around 3200 bucks... I do have a question about 1 2g video card or 2 1g cards... I'm thinking in the future the price will come down and I can add the second card then. Also is my cooling opeion good enough?  Thank you for your help.

you can save yourself a lot by building in special deals, the cases in black ops are pretty overpriced, and for 3200 max, you could get a much stronger gaming machine (assuming gaming is what youre building for)

$2939

the case you chose wont give you any gains over this much cheaper one, but you can get the raven2 case if you like assassins design.

dual 480s is about as high as you can get for gaming right now, reasonably

the noctua u12p is near the exact same as the 14 without the extra cost

im not a fan of mcafee, there are tons of free solutions these days

i wouldnt buy a keyboard or mouse here, you can get better prices, better return policies, and wider selections elsewhere

"adding a 2nd card later" is a bad idea in my opinion. get it now and enjoy it. or get a single card and pocket what you would waste on second copy of it after its outdated... and buy a NEW video card instead of adding more outdated hardware.

What is your monitor's maximum resolution?

I do have a question about 1 2g video card or 2 1g cards... I'm thinking in the future the price will come down and I can add the second card then.

A 5970 "2GB" is actually just two underclocked 5870 1GB GPUs together in one card, and it is overpriced. I would never recommend it.

Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D Premium SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) (Features USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s)

If you're picking it for the USB 3.0 you can just get an add-on USB 3.0 PCIe card for very cheap. If you're picking it for the SATA III 6Gb/s, don't.

Wow... thanks for the fast response...
I will check the non black ops builds and prob. go with two GPU cards and the U12P fan as well as getting my keyboard and mouse else where... guess I was being lazy.

Ok, I'm busted... I did select my mobo for the USB 3.0.... what would be a good replacement mobo?

I was planning on buying a Samsung PX2370 monitor... any feedback here would be great... thanks again!

But what is your monitor's maximum resolution? If it's only 1920x1200 or lower two GPUs is just plain wasteful when a single 480 works great.

The EVGA x58 LE. SATA III is pointless, but USB 3.0 is usable if you actually have any external storage devices that could benefit from the speed and use them often, but just get a USB 3.0 PCIe add on card for that.
