Link the specs to the setup you had BEFORE you ordered from DS!
The crappier the better, although I don't think you can top mine. I'm bored waiting for mine to come, can't you tell? ![]() |

Compaq Presario
Original Specs:
CPU: P4 @ 1.59 GHz
RAM: 256 MB 266MHz DDR
Integrated Graphics
Integrated Sound
37GB HDD
220W Compaq PSU
XP Home
Compaq 17" 7550 CRT Monitor
User Upgrades in the time I owned it:
1. Upgraded to 1 GB of that same pathetic memory, since the mobo could not support anything faster.
2. Upgraded to first to a NVidia 4200Ti, then later to an ATI X700pro
3. Had to replace the HDD after 7 years of faithful service, replaced with 60GB Seagate.
Retired 10/30/07, the moment, down to the second, I was able to get my DSO machine up and running. Edited by Tyler Lowe - 02 Jan 2008 at 11:41pm |

I'm posing this from:
Thermaltake Shark (piece of junk FYI) AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.01 GHz) 1 GB RAM Radeon 9800 Pro (I soft-modded this to XT) SB Audigy 2 ZS 130 GB 7200 RPM HD DVD Drive CD-RW Plexwriter 24/10/40 Every case fan has died, and my Radeon's fan is on the way out. My faithful box fan of 14 years currently cools everything... and I OC the hell out of everything. Screw 120mm fans! I can't wait for DS to get done with my new one!!! |

Homemade by a neighbor that has since moved out of state:
Antec tower case
300 watt power supply
Intel P4 2.4
Asus mother board
1.5 g ram (was updated many times... We started with 512 g!)
Nvidia 6800, 256 card (also 3 times, started with 64 card!)
Creative Labs Audigy Gamer
And that was built about 7 years ago! It was top of the line when we built it! It still runs great and plays all of my older games well. But, when I loaded up BioShock, I saw I had finally hit the wall. It did ok, but not great like I was used to. And then the COD4 demo came out... and I wanted to cry! That was when I began to shop for a new system!

Dell Dimension 8200
P4 2.26 Ghz
512 Ram
GeForce 4200 Ti
Soundblaster Live!
80gb HD
275W (Aftermarket from PC Power and Cooling)
The hard drive started to slow to a crawl after exactly 5 years of faithful service, so I used that as the final straw to get a new system (MoBo in used AGP cards, which would have meant only upgrade was ATI).
I have since replaced the HD in it with a new 80gb from new egg and made that my son's computer. Edited by 67alecto - 06 Jan 2008 at 11:01am |
