I have a weird question.  Can DS install an internally mounted removable drive system?

The reason I ask is that we had a mechanism in a company I worked for where we didn't have a lot of budget for Unix systems.  So, what we did was buy one system and a removable drive bay system where the removable drive was the root disk.  And the standard disks were the data disks.

In this configuration, we could shut down the system, put in a new drive cartridge, and then install or use a separate OS version just by putting in the other disk.

But my "dream system" would have a removable data disk that I could:
o put photos
o put video editing projects
o etc.

And, in this setup, I wouldn't want to reboot the computer just to swap out disks.

Suggestions???

emmn, not sure I understand you correctly, but you can do that right now.

if all your data is on one HDD, you can take it out and put in a new HDD with a new os and run it.

I think they are called Hot Swappable disks or something along those lines.
Why do they blame me for all their little failings? They use my name as if I spent my entire day sitting on their shoulders, forcing them to commit acts they would otherwise find repulsive - Lucifer

I can't take out my internal os drive and swap it with any other drive that has an os and the drivers for this system.
