So, as a first time home owner I am going to be receiving a nice government check any day now... I should probably save it but it's been 2 years since my last computer so I figure why not buy another!
My question is... is this a good time to buy? I would probably buy it around September but last time I bought my rig in October I got 8800 ultras and within a month they had a better series, lol. I know this will happen the majority of the time but isn't there supposed to be a new video card chipset coming out soon? I was thinking I could wait a little longer if something awesome is coming out fairly soon.
Also, when are SSD prices supposed to go down? I kind of think running RAID 0 is a pain in the arse.
Any suggestions? I will probably spend $3000-$4000 on the system when I finally get it.

1920x1200 on my 24" ... but I want this thing to last me another 2 to 2.5 years. That's why I went with dual 8800 ultras last time, which was overkill for my monitor, but I am still comfortably playing a lot of games now, but they are showing their age. I really want to know if I should wait or not though.

well if you wait then you gonna have to keep waiting, new GPUs are coming out, but from what I understand the big boys are gonna be out H1 of 2010.
you want LC on CPU? LC on GPUs? |

If that's the case, I might just wait.
I probably will stick to air cooling as I have never had a LC setup before. I understand that it is fairly low maintenance, but I don't have any experience whatsoever and know next to nothing about LC'ing.
