Power and Innovation to Drive High-End GPUs in 2009
..... GPUx4s? That even conceivable? Lol. And like everybody else, wheee bit lost at the naming scheme for Geforce lol. I don't even know what G200+ the GTX280 is. |

Dual core GPUs... about time!
Beats SLI and CrossfireX from a logical standpoint. I'd rather run a quad core GPU vs quad SLI. That would be one powerful graphics card! |

Looks like ATI/AMD is going to keep the lead in the Graphics division.
At least IMO. Hopefully they stick to PCI Ex16 2.0 Does that even have enough bandwidth to support multicore GPU's? |

I guess, if you don't count this $3500 card ("NVIDIA launches industry's first 4GB graphics card")

I hope to god it's not that much. Ill just stick with CrossFireX with 4870x2's then. Even if it isn't as powerful, it will be enough for any game in the next 5+ years.

Oh ok good.
I wonder what we can expect from the gaming versions. Hopefully they are around the same price as a 4870x2. I wouldn't hold my breath though. |

As far as GPUs go, from what I see, you just have to wait 3 month after the card comes out, before another one comes out and the price drops, so no matter what the price, its a matter of time before it would drop.
however these graphic cards are made more for graphic work then games, so you would not see a gaming version of these. they cost too much if you ask me anyways |

Oh well. Like I said earlier CrossFireX will suffice most if not all games.
Maybe we can see a....CrossFireOCT(6) with DX11? That would be wayyyyy over kill. |

..?
The Quadro FX 5800 is powered by a GT200 core. That same core powers the GTX 280 -.- |

A course not because the Quadro FX 5800 has 4GB of memory whereas the GTX 280 has 1GB.
The point is that they use the same core. You use to be able to flash a Geforce to a Quadro quite easily but Nvidia has learned from that mistake. |
