i had a power outage the other day with my comp it was pluged into a power surge but it did not seem to help
 
the next day i tried to turn on the computer and everything turned on for half a sec and then shut down thats all it does
 
with that said i need your help plz i have no where else to turn this is what i have done so far
 
1: tried to clear my cmos and started up still same thing
 
2: replaced my motherboard still with samething
 
3: replaced the cpu and still samething
 
4: replaced cpu fan and still samthing
 
5: tried a diff video card due to my motherboard not having on onboard and still samthing
 
6:i have 3 sticks of 2 g ram i tried switching them out to see if it might be them still cant get it to post
 
7: i took my power supply down and got it tested and it come back fine and working
 
8: i renoved everything out of my tower to see if there was a ground somewhere and it still did the same thing
 
at this point i dont know what to do other then it being the ram due to be not having other types of ran to try out in it all i was able to do was to alternate the ram i already had in the system to see if one of them may have fried
 
plz i need help
 
my specs are
cpu core i7 920
ati 5850
rampage 2 gene mother board
3 stick 6g total of g skill brand at 1600
1 tb harddrive
v8 cpu cooler
tx850w corsair power supply
 
could the ram be the reson it does not post and only kicks on for about half a sec then powers down and also there is no beeps coming from the board speaker but i tested it by removeing the vid card and it does beep to let me know its like a 2000 dollar system and its siting on my floor what do i need to do to get this thing running any help plz PS im new to fourms plz if i did something wrgn im sorry in advance

Please do not post the same topic in two different sections. I looked over your situation and gave you a few things to try to find the problem.
