Hello, I received my new DS computer about a month ago and and I'm not sure if this is an issue or not. When I turn it on and it starts to run for about 2-3 seconds than turn off again for another second or so than a quick beep and it will boot up normaly. Is this normal or is there somthing wrong? Sorry if this is a silly question.

What motherboard do you have?  With the EVGA p55 motherboards it does indeed do a double boot.  It will double boot with the x58 when you have lost power to the mobo but will boot normally when you have not switched off at the power supply or unplugged.

I have an x58 mortherboard. Ok that makes sense, when I shut my computer off at night I turn off my power supply. Is this double boot harmful in any way?

It's checking for overclock settings is the purpose of double boot.  I wouldn't turn it off at the power supply.  I certainly wouldn't think you did any harm at all so don't worry but it really isn't doing anything either.  Just get a surge protector and plug it in and forget about it.  just power down through windows and leave it be.

I assume you worrying about surges and thats why you turn it off at the power supply?  Here is a good discussion I had about this on these forums http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=9019&KW=cutler+hammer.
