I would have to say Q2 2008 at earliest until AMD and ATI get their stupid heads back in the business.

Don't quite understand your question. Any game that releases in 2007 and 2008 will be playable on high settings by a 8 or 7 series card.

You're going to be waiting a bit for Intel price drops. Intel significantly lowered prices on almost everything in mid-July when they released the E6X50s.

What he said....
The only possible reason to wait a short while to buy a computer is if you want one of Intel's new Penryn CPUs and a P38 chip set based motherboard. I'm guessing these are going to be expensive when they come out, but I don't know.

actually more Intel price drops should happen in the very near future seeing as they're dropping some older ones and introducing the core 2 solo line

I see, then, once you wait for that price drop, Intel will announce something new, then you wait more, then AMD will announce something new and you wait for it, then you realize Intel's was still a faster solution. End result, for the money saved, you could of been playing the latest and greatest games months ago. *I hope everyone understand's that, Intel/AMD/ATI/NVIDIA won't stop releasing new products etc, it happens every year*
