Will there be a cheaper model i n 2014? a lvl1 in the 499 to 599 range perhaps?

My gut feeling is they would be more likely to improve the specs rather than drop the price on the systems.

That would be my guess also. But, DS never announces in advance,so no way to know. The Vanquish level 1 is the least expensive they've had and decent entry level gaming for the money.

You really don't want them to drop into really cheap price ranges.  The lvl 1 already is running some really bare bone specs. i3, low memory, low video card.  If it drops much more, you'll be getting on board graphics, with like no ram, and so on.  Trust me, you'd much rather the price stay where it is, and just update the spec, rather than a price drop.

You get what you pay for, remember that.
