Hey guys any ideas on a cheaper printer that is compatible with windows 7?  I have a Dell V305W and it fails to load drivers when I plug it in.  It has cause spool errors and I beleive a blue screen crash because of bad drivers.  I have deleted the drivers and tested w/ prime 95 and linx to make sure it wasn't hardware and so far no problems.

So any good ideas on a very light duty printer that won't give me problems with Win 7?

Yes, I got the drivers right from Dell.  This printer has caused problems on 3 very seperate occasions.  Each time I deleted the drivers and it fixed the problem.  I had the printer uninstalled for several weeks.  Yesterday I try again and did it by the book and a few hrs later it blue screened.  I googled the code and people said it was a driver most likely.  I deleted the drivers then I tested prime blend for 12 hrs just to make sure no hardaware issue and it tested fine.

I dislike all things dell so I don't mind getting a new one anyway :-)  Any ideas?

I print 20-30 pages a day, every day, I have had good luck with HP officejet pro l 7590. don't know what you are looking for, but if you print a lot, it is very cheap to opperate, and I got it through HP employee pricing, for a very good price. but I doubt you need that much printer? lol

Yeah I was looking at the 30 dollar HP Deskjet D1660, LMAO.  Between me and my girlfriend we print 20-30 pages a month.  I'm looking for something to run good with windows 7 and under 100 dollars.

I am also baffled why the dell is causing problems but it won't even install basic drivers when plug in via USB.  Always an error there.  I just got an Xbox 360 controller and that works just fine (dirt 2 is really fun w/ it).  It passed stress tests without problems so I don't beleive it to be hardware.

So I figure to heck w/ that dell and I'll get a cheapy that takes minimal space and hope it works.
