Does anyone know if I can switch my order over to a Priority Build, or if there’s any other way to speed up the process? I’m just so pumped to get my system in

I have looked at several different machines and I don't see any that offer a Priority Build. I think the corona virus has created component shortages. I ordered my machine on 3/22 and it is just at stage 4 as of today.

Anybody have an opinion regarding whether it’s worth it to wait 2 months for this system?

We're all (shouldn't generalize, so I'll say "Most of us") will say heck yes it's worth it. The machine that you'll get will be everything you wanted and more.

As long as you’re not in any type of rush to get a PC then yes. Ordered mine April 09 I’m on stage 4 now. I wanted to priority build mine aswell but like stated before I think the covid pandemic has everything back ordered or just going slower then usual to lack of workers. It’ll all be worth it though in the end. Edited by MadSpit - 07 May 2020 at 6:21am |

You would think they would have set up emails to indicate the wait times being longer. They still advertise shipments being 10-15 business days. I understand with everything going on that timeframes are hard to predict, but to give false information on it and with shotty customer service seems like a bad formula.

Yes, it's worth the wait.
We have no idea what DS staff are going through to continue on in the face of all the stressors that exist for everyone of us. The office people, I understand, are working from home, probably half in the dark about the day-to-day in the build dept. Those folks are doing the best they can possibly do in the face of short staff, absences, antiseptic procedures, and the inevitable parts delays and shortages from Asia. That they are working through this is perhaps to be admired rather than a source of impatience.

I absolutely respect the people who are out there working day to day, however as someone stated, they are still suggesting delivery times are 10-15 days, which clearly isn’t the case, but is however, 100% understandable and forgivable. I simply wish they were a bit more upfront about quite how much things are being slowed down, so I could have made a more informed decision. I am ECSTATIC to receive my Digital Storm PC, and am willing to wait for it, but was simply asking if it IS worth the wait from people who would know. Please don’t misinterpret my frustration with waiting as frustration with the hard working individuals fulfilling my order.

I ordered Config ID 3063789 in the late afternoon (PDT) on 5/4. I was in Stage 1 on 5/5. On 5/7 I received two emails, one for Stage 2 and one for Stage 3.
I suspect the wait is dependant, at least in part, on what system/parts that you have ordered. FWIW I was perfectly happy waiting. My homebuilt i7-4770K works fine, but is just getting old. It will be an improvement for my wife over her newer, but more basic, system. Her's will be kepts as a working spare. Best wishes. |

Actually, Pthree0714, they ARE meeting the 10-15 business days, in most cases. You just don't hear about all the orders that are filled on time on this Forum, and why would you? That time frame is ONLY on the Lynx partially built models; the custom builds are 6 weeks. The reason almost everyone spends so much time in Stage 1, is that's where the line starts to wait for your turn to begin assembly. No doubt the length of that line changes every day, and unpredictably. Then when assembly is complete, they stress-test your build for 24 hours to make sure everything works together properly. Sometimes those tests fail, and the build is UNEXPECTEDLY delayed. The line gets held up a bit. Management has visited our Forum several times recently to explain they just don't have spare bodies to stay on top of the stage updates. I hope this is helpful. |

Absolutely. I appreciate all feedback and have decided to wait. You make a great point, about how I’ll only hear about the delayed orders, and for me to generalize the whole Digital Storm supply line was misguided, for sure. I am eagerly and patiently looking forward to my system. Thank you to DS for continuing to work during these difficult and uncertain times.

Thanks for your understanding. It's always hard to wait, but worth it in the end!
