Alright, it's down to the wire for me (build entered stage 5 on Tuesday) on the issue of shipping my new system to Italy. I need some advice.
International FedEx costs nearly $600 on its own. Plus the optional crate and import duties (avoided if using APO), that'd probably be over a grand just to get my system to me. Obviously this isn't really an option. APO shipping has to use USPS, and follow their rules. This means that maximum package dimensions are 108" combined length and girth. The exception is Parcel Post (essentially fourth class mail), which allows up to 130", but is obviously slower, and may even be placed on a ship to go from NY to Europe...probably not the BEST place for a perfomance PC. The 850 case I've ordered, without any packaging whatsoever, measures approximately 90" length plus girth. That leaves enough headroom for up to 1 and 3/4 inches on all sides (foam + box), to total 107 1/2 inches. Is this sufficient protection? I know that the manual and any cables wouldn't fit inside this box, but could they be shipped seperately? (Sorry to put this on the forums as well as asking customer support, BTW, but I'm desperate for some quick answers) Another option: I assume that it's too late in the build to switch cases without incurring additional extra cost for the labor, but given the risks, costs and potential impossibility of my other choices, this might be the best option...thoughts on this? Which case would better meet my needs between the Antec 900 and the 750Si (relevant system specs are dual GTX 260's in SLI, 2 HDD's, 2 CD/DVD drives, Stage 3 air cooling, and an LCD fan control unit)? If you read this far, than God bless you. If you respond with anything that can help me than God bless you some more. |

without seeing you're full build its difficult to give you advice to modify it, but i'll tell you. as much as the money to get it to you safely sucks. i'd say its worth it. thats just me. obviously thats a lot of money to put up, i just cant think of a viable (or cheaper) alternative

Honestly, we are going to have to have you change your case. It simply won't be a good idea to try to reduce packaging in order to fit an 850Si...
Give me a call or email, I will work something out for you.
Warm Regards,
