I have posted this on like 5 different boards and even the LOTRO forums and I still haven't really gotten any help - so I figured I would see if anyone here can help.

I am running SLI but do not know whether this is the root of the problem or not, but either way I am getting a freeze usually after 40 to 60 minutes of play.  My whole computer locks up, so it's not the nvlddmkm error we all know and love, and it's not just a crash to desktop either - I have to manually reset my computer.  This ONLY happens in LOTRO.

I have tried disabling EAX, lowering my video options, etc, but I still get the full system crash and I don't know why.  Does anyone who has LOTRO ever have this problem?  If you don't play LOTRO, would this be a hardware issue maybe?  I never get any hard locks in other games and the only issues I get are that sometimes in SLI I get the nvlddmkm error, but I rarely see it anymore with the new wave of nvidia drivers.  I have also tested each vid card out separately and both work fine on their own.

Any thoughts?  Wink

I havent used vista 64bit yet but I used to have this problem during the beta. They seemed to have fixed the issue I was having but when it was happening I would disable SLI to play.

I got some replies on another board saying that it is probably a hardware problem.  Not sure how that would make sense considering I don't have this issue in any other game.  This is really starting to get frustrating.  I don't want to disable SLI if that is the supposed way to fix it because then I can't run it at full settings.  What's the point of having dual vid cards if you are forced into only using one ya know...

At this point I can't upgrade my video card(s) either because I am on a 680i and all of the new cards out are PCI x2.

I would post on the lotro forums in the tech help section. A lot of times it isnt a hardware issue as much as a simple setting modification

I did that, and no response after about a week.  Starting to become a lost cause.

Could be faulty ram. I have the same problem, only its Counter Strike Source. No other game will lock up my computer. Try doing some ram tests. Not a good idea to take advice from me though, I'm far from an expert with computers.
