Topic: Problem with my Razer Sound Card...Posted: 05 Mar 2009 at 3:04am |

My new comp arrived today and everything is working great except for one thing.
I have the Razer AC-1 Sound card and when I plug headphones in it seems to only have audio on the left headphone (the right is very very low, but its there). I used two seperate headphones, A Zalman 5.1 headset and then an old normal pair of headphones. The weird thing is it's the exact same problem despite the fact that the Zalman uses 3 plug-ins and the normal head set uses just one. The Zalman uses 3 plugs for Center, Rear and Front speakers. It only seems to read the Front and none of the other 2 regardless of which ports I use.
Both sets of headphones work fine if I use them in the port on the front of my case (HAF 932).
Any ideas? Usually the audio jacks built into the case are connected to the motherboard integrated sound, not independent sound cards. UNLESS it is an I/O panel on the front of the case that comes with the sound card. However, I don't think the Razer AC-1 has one of those. So, if the case audio jacks work (connecting to the motherboard sound), that means his headphones are okay, and implies there's a problem with the Razer sound card, or it's configuration. |

check and see if the wire going from the front panel to the sound card is in place. I have the Razer card and there funny sometimes. just double check on that

Actually I recently got my DS rig and everything is great but i'm having the exact same problem. When I plug the headphones into the motherboard audio (front jack on the haf case) they work just fine... can hear out of both ears. When I hook headphones up to the razer soundcard though, I cannot hear out of one of the ears. I played around with the razer config and the windows audio config and no matter what I do I cannot get it to play sound out of both ears. If anybody knows a solution to this problem it would be a huge help. Thanks.

I know our staff, Randy especially knows how to resolve a lot of bugs with the Razer sound card... You may want to check into it with him. Give us a call or send us a message.
