    Posted: 02 Dec 2008 at 5:24pm
I have evga's precision and the program worked great with the 178... drivers but since I wanted to try this new 180... driver that's out, when I open precision, it wont let me adjust my fan speed.  That's a bummer.....
Has anyone else had this problem?  I think it's kinda a driver issue, because I did some browsing and found many people have this same problem with this new driver.
So the question is... I guess I should back track the driver and just use the second to the newest one right?  Or is there something I can do to make precision work as far as adjusting the fan speeds.  Everything else on the program works as far as overclocking the cards.

Now I did uninstall precision and Im going to try riva tuner tonight, any thoughts on that program?  Is it better?

Rivatuner and Precision is made by the same person.

Rivatuner is just a lot more advanced.

Ya, I realized that too yesterday. I upgraded to the new drivers and realized my fans were really quiet and that my GPU was really hot. I then looked in precision and saw the fan speed was blank and immediately searched to see if Precision had been updated.

Come on over Mason, ill show you around.... ok. ok , so Im a little slow.  Big%20smile But its all good now.  Actually better, I think I found the sweet spot of overclocking my GCs.  I fianlly got FS9 to work.  (it was a aftermarket program for FS9 that was screwing it up) and it is totally maxed out.  And under the Nvidia control I have everything maxed as far as AS and AA.
Now I do have a question though.  Under the Nvidia control panel I do have the AS at 16x and AA at SLI32Q.  Sometimes I think that its not really working because I cant see any difference.  Is there a difference in SLI32 and SLI32Q?  Even when I go down to the lower settings in AA and AS, my FPS are not affected (at all) and things just look the same.  Could someone explain this more to me?

Well I have my AA at 16x and my AF at SLi32Q.  (SLi16,SLi32,SLi32Q) Something like that shows up.  So my question is I dont see any diff at 32x and the 32Q. What is the diff? Also Im wandering are my graphic cards really pushing that much.  Because it doesnt seem to slow the frame down.  I only have 2 8800GTS (512) but both are overclocked pretty high.  So mabe it is really working.
sigh.... sorry to be a pain.  Just trying to learn more things.

lol.... you know this place is expensive.  Speaking of rice... Im sooo tired of eating it.  Second, they have here a $1000 rice maker.  WHAT?  lol... well I cant really complain.  My wife bought us a $300 rice maker.  You would think it would clean the rice, cool the rice, and then clean up the mess for that much.  But she says "I can tell the difference"..  lol... I left that one alone.
So anyways,  You are right about leaving things alone, but I wanted to see if FS9 could get better with a little overclock.  So far, its looks like the overclock is doing good for the game.  right now the specs are
core clock=772
shader clock=1860
memeory clock=1043
fan speed =100%

stock is:
core clock=650
shader clock=1625
memory clock=972
fan  speed=70%
