Is anybody having problems with the version of IE 10 that microsoft just shoved down our throats via an automatic push update? There seem to be quite a few
IE 10 installed on my two Win 7/64 machines Tuesday. One of them seems to work fine. The other can't open page links in a new tab or window. It looks like this problem also existed, for some people, as far back as IE 8, but I haven't seen an actual fix for it. My solution was to roll the one machine back to IE 9 and shut off automatic updates. I suppose the ultimate solution would be to switch to Firefox or Chrome.

So far so good for me. It just updated today, and other than being initially slow, has gotten a lot better. My older pc will probably get the update later on when my wife uses it, so we'll see.

I use Safari
Change your Windows Update settings so they don't automatically install. You have the option for it to 1. Do nothing 2. Check for updates 3. Check for updates and download 4. Check for Updates, download and install I prefer to keep mine at 2 because when it is set to 4, it will install updates while you are in the middle of something and then bounce you out with a message saying updates were installed. |
