I'm not sure what to do here, so I thought I would post to see what those of you who are more knowledgeable on these topics suggest.


I decided to download and play the free trial for an mmorpg this week.

Upon initializing the updating process I was directed to install and update directx 9.

Issue is that I have checked and I have directx 11 fully updated.

It's my understanding that if I install a different version of directx it will overwrite whatever version I currently have.

So, what am I supposed to do?

It seems rather inconvenient and silly to have to install a different directx everytime I want to play a different game.

this is normal sometimes there are some dx files that you don't have on your system even though you are dx 11 compatible
