what is the resolution of the monitor you are planing on running?

why 12GB of ram?

also one of the reasons we get our PCs here is that we can change/upgrade parts and keep it powerful for a while for little money, are you saying you don't want to touch anything on the pc the whole time you own it?

Hello and thanks for the reply.

I was split on the 12GB of ram. I figured it was probably overkill at this point. Just wanted to get some feedback on it. Usually 7 runs pretty good on 2GB, so I will probably just go with 6GB.

Right now I will probably be using a 32inch sony. so the resolution will be 1920x1080. The tv was a gift so i will need to see how the picture will look.

As far as performing upgrades, I usually start out with the intention of keeping things somewhat current, but usually I just don't get around to it. I actually work in IT so a lot of times I just don't really feel like messing with my own computer. I get everyone else's computer working great and mine is the one that has all the problems.

HDD1 = fast small drive: os/apps/games

HDD2 = regular large drive: media/personal/work file storage

for your res a 570 gtx is what you need, I'm assuming based on what you said you are not going to go sli, so you don't need a 1000w psu.

upgraded fans with this case are not needed and are loud.

for power supplies here go with corsair for better reliability and longer warranty.

sounds like some good changes. Thanks for the help. Through the changes in and it is nice to see the cost come down some. Most of the PCs I deal with anymore are the normal Dell and HP variety. Most of the gamers I know are the xbox and ps3 type. I am the oddball.

I don't see myself getting into the sli now. Maybe in the future, but if I follow my normal course I won't. LOL.

that should give you what you need plus you got a ssd for HDD1 now with some great speeds. and the corsair psu has a 5 year warranty of its own.

the difference with these systems vs our old dell and hp systems is that these can be upgraded for little money and kept powerful, one of my old dell's psu just died and it was a pain finding a psu for it, no such problems with these systems.
