I'm looking at two PSUs the Thermaltake Purepower 600w and the Corsair HX620, is the Corsair worth the extra $50 or would that money be better spent on other parts? It'll be running:
E6850 Stage 3
8800GTS 640mb (no SLI)
1 HDD
1 DVD drive
X-fi (not that this will use much power)
2G PC2-6400

P.S. or could I get away with the HX520 with this set up?

From what I've read the Thermaltake Purepower line of PSUs is supposed to be really good; at least in terms of actually being able to deliver advertised juice. I don't know about cooling, noise, etc. I'm guessing the Corsair isn't worth it.
 
Everybody is going to tell you to get a bigger PSU, like at least a 750W, and 850W is better if you have any thoughts of going SLI in the future. Who am I to argue?

620W is fine if you do not plan on upgrading.

The ram is also fine if you do not plan on upgrading.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

Go with the Corsair. It's a much better PS than the Thermaltake. Your rig will be fine with 620W. There are plenty of websites that has an online calculator to calculate how much power you need for your rig. From the look of your rig, i would gues you only need around 400W MAX from a good PS. My older P4 has a lot more devices than your rig and it still use around 400W ( 3 hard drives, 2 dvd burners, zip drive, floppy, sound card, video card, Ultra 133 pci card, NIC, SCSI card)

Thanks for the replies. Still not sure if Corsair is worth the extra $$ over the TT. Does anyone have personal experience with the Thermaltake PSU?

I have used Thermaltake power supplies in all of my computers and I have never had an issue.  I have built and purchased about 7 over the past 7 years.  I have had good luck with Thermaltake.

ThermalTake power supplies are quiet and good. If you are on a budget, stick with ThermalTake.
