Hello,
My PSU made a pop noise last night and will not power up. This is the second time my PSU has failed to power since I purchased the PC it has been a little over a year. Would you guys recomenned me bringing it in to the facility or will it be better if I just buy a new PSU. Also what are some good PSU that will work with my system. Most likely a bad psu. Can you smell anything? Electronics gives off a very distinct smell when overheating, caps shorting, etc.
If it’s still under warranty with DS then have them verify it and they send a new one. Being a modular psu, changing it should be easy. A long shot, but try plugging the psu directly into a wall outlet, no surge protector.

Double check the On/Off switch on the psu. It might have tripped.. Not usually, but ya never know. Just in case its the mobo and not psu, hard to tell sometimes, unplug the 24 pin and 8 pin from the mobo and short the green and a black wire in 24 pin connector. Do this by unplugging from the wall, unplug the 24 and 8 pin from mobo, short green and black with paper clip, pins 15 and 16 usually, but go by color, plug back in and see if the fans , lights turn on. ![]() |
