Finally placed my order.   #113570

Not a high end rig but I will be happy.  Thanks to all the peeps the helped with the post and reviewing my rig over the past few months.

Wierd thing tho.  I got the confirmation email and It said

Sub-Total 1425.00
tax                 0.00
S&H                0.00
Totall         1425.00

Then I had to call to get the shipping adress changed and when I went back to look at the customer service page I went to print out my reciept and it stated.

Sub-Total       1425.00
Tax                   117.56
Shipping               0.00
Grand Total     1425.00

Not sure why it put one with and one with out tax.  But still did not include it in the price.  I guess tax is free they just want to show you how much you saved.

Also still waitting on the e-mail to authorize the diffrent shipping address.

Thanks again.

There is no tax on out of state orders. Though our system still calculates it sometimes.

There is tax on the instate orders. Which I believe is the national standard with etailers.

I am pretty sure we are both in CA but it still say my total is 1425.00.   I do not want to shoot myself in the foot but I also do not want to get held up on a small detail.

Is this the Dave that I talked to earlier over the phone?

Am I understanding what you said correctly, Dashuu, when you say that out of state orders are not charged tax?  For example, I live in PA and if I order a rig, it will be without a tax charge?  Is this for all states outside of DS's home state?

Just clarifying?

Yes, if you do not live in California and you buy a computer from Digital Storm, you will not be charged for any tax percentage on the computer.

That holds true to a point,  but If the company you are dealing with has a presence in your home state, then you are charged tax, just as if you had bought it in your home state.

yea, if there is no physical address of the business in your state, theres no tax

there is, of course, exceptions to this. something like providing a service since its not selling an item, that can add tax. but dont quote me on that

Yeah it just suck cuz they are in northern CA and about 400 miles away but if you you go like 200 miles east of them that puts u in another state.  GRRR.

still waitting for a reply from Dave on this.  Also have not recieved anything about the authorizing the change in the shipping address.
