Id make sure you got a working computer first. I still think its crazy DS says building a new computer wouldnt fix it. There is obviously something dasterdly wrong and its hard to find out what.

Yep, the Q9550 has a 8.5x multiplier.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

Ive always wondered if your chances of getting a good OCing chip are higher getting the step down from the highest chip (IE an 8400 instead of an 8500, 9450 vs 9550).
 
The reasoning being that those higher level chips probably have had enough binned at their regular speed to meet demand. Therefore the even higher binned surplus ends up being mostly used to shore up the high demand for the one step down chips
 
 I still dont understand the binning process really though. Its pure speculation haha.
