Topic: Q9450 Overclock Question Posted: 22 Aug 2008 at 11:37pm |
Hey guys,
I am not going to get my computer for about another 6 weeks or so, and I was wondering if anyone out there has got the Q9450 overclocked. If so, could you tell me how fast it is on your system? I am stage 3 cooling on mine, so I kow I won't get the max out of it, but I would like a ballpark figure. Thanks all Matt Whoops, just saw the overclocking thread, could a moderator please move this post there? Thanks! Edited by Iraq Now - 22 Aug 2008 at 11:40pm |

IN,I think I have seen in the forum somebody with 3.6 but I think they had liquid cooling. I don't know if you can get that high/er with out it.

Given the multiplier, typical result will probably be around 3.4Ghz, 3.6Ghz+ I would expect on the high end, depending on the motherboard (and of course, the CPU... some just hate overclocking at all).

My system shipped from DSO with the overclock at 3.2, and I have seen several others at the same speed so I would guess that is where it will be when you receive it.
That seems to be the speed they are most comfortable with. It is a nice improvement over the stock speed and should be very stable with most systems.
