I read an article that stated that the quad channel memory didn't perform as well as the duel channel. The material may have been a little dated but I could not find more recent information. Has this problem been fixed? If so how much better is the quad channel than the duel channel?

What is the performance boost of 2133MHz memory compared to the standard 1600MHz?  It looks like 1600MHz is standard in the build configurator, but with SSDs, the 2133 has to be way better, right?

Quad channel ram is helpful in applications that can use it, like video editing, Lightroom, Photoshop, etc that can use the wider memory bandwidth.  For gaming, there is no benefit.  Dual works just fine.

The 1600Mhz ram sticks is, again, all you need for gaming,  The higher clock speeds help in certain programs or in intense, high end gaming where someone wants everything tweeked to the max.

Hope this helps.

It was explained to me on my system build that the 1600MHz was more stable than the 2133MHz and the performance was not much more.

Thanks. My current system has tri-channel memory, and I was afraid of regressing when I buy my next system if I went back to duel channel.

I'm assuming you have a X58 mobo.

The newer z77 , dual channel mobos won't be taking a hit at all.      Both are very good platforms.
